Question: What size hole needs to be dug in order to allow relining to take place?

Answer: Depending on how the existing pipe is configured, and what style of reline repair is being installed, in most cases excavation is avoided totally. If required however, only one small excavation will be needed.

Question: Will there be a reduction in pipe diameter?

Answer: Yes. The overall diameter of the pipe is decreased by 6mm. This is not enough to affect the required capacity of the pipe. In fact, the inner surface of the pipe becomes smoother increasing the flow rate and self-cleansing properties.

Question: What is the maximum diameter and length of pipe?

Answer: We can treat lines from 50mm up to 250mm in diameter and with a maximum length of up to 50metres or more.

Question: Are sewer lines the only type of pipe you line?

Answer: No! You can line any pipe whether it is horizontal or vertical, round or rectangular, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, or any other waste situation.

Answer: Yes!  You are able to reline multiple bends with a single liner

Question: Are you able to reline junctions?

Answer: Yes!  You are able to install a complete one-piece junction liner.

Question: What type of pipes can be relined?

Answer: All types of pipe are suitable to be relined.

Question: What happens if roots have penetrated the pipe?

Answer: The pipe is cleaned and inspected with a high-pressure water jet. Generally this removes the roots and we can assess the problem. The cleaned pipe can then be relined to eliminate the point where the roots gained access.

Question: How long does relining take?

Answer: A repair of 1 – 5 metres in length will take approximately 4 hours.

Question: What size pipe can be relined?

Answer: Pipes from 40mm to 225mm in diameter can be relined.

Question: Is relining expensive?

Answer: Compared to digging up the pipe, replacing the pipe and rehabilitating the surrounding area relining is both economical and environmentally friendly.

Answer: No. Relining is a 100% joint less liner meaning there is nowhere for the tree roots to enter.

Question: Can relining be used in vertical applications?

Answer: Yes. Up to 100metres in length of any material, including Copper, Asbestos, Cast Iron, or PVC.

Answer: Yes. We can install a complete one-piece junction seal in either 100 or 150mm junctions, any configuration in both 45 and 90-degree applications.

Question: Why don’t many plumbers recommend this sort of repair?

Answer: A lot of trades people don’t like change and are therefore reluctant to offer something they know very little about. Some plumbers also see relining as a threat, because once relined there is often never a need to clean the lines again.

Answer: Only a camera inspection can determine the best method of repair for each application. Relining cannot be used in every application, and there may still be the need to use relining in conjunction with traditional repair methods.
